What’s Included in Model Pricing

Updated over a week ago

At Squareshot, we offer 2 types of pricing for model projects:

Per-hour pricing

You can book a model shoot starting from 4 hours.

Per-hour works best when your deliverables aren’t fully defined yet or when you want flexibility on set. We also use this format for shoots that involve complex requests finalized with a mix of add-on services.

Here’s the pricing breakdown for per-hour model shoots:

Per-image pricing (Outfit-Based)

Per-image pricing is optimized for structured shoots with defined outfits and deliverables.

Instead of pricing every image in isolation, we group images by outfit. This reflects real production effort and makes pricing more predictable for multi-look shoots.

How per-image pricing works

  • Images are grouped by outfit

  • The first angle of an outfit is priced at full rate

  • Each additional angle of the same outfit is priced at 50% of the first angle

  • Minimum: 5 outfits / 20 images

  • Includes 6 months of usage rights for recognizable images

Pricing depends on whether you use a Squareshot model or provide your own:

$220.00

$110.00

Your model

$170.00

$87.50

Minimum order requirement

Per-image model projects require:

  • At least 5 outfits

  • At least 20 total images

If your project includes fewer than 5 outfits or fewer than 20 images, we can still produce it — an additional charge will apply to cover the minimum production threshold.

This ensures we can allocate the right team and studio time to your shoot.

Hand & Foot Model Pricing

Hand and foot projects remain priced per image (no outfit grouping).

  • $150 per image with Squareshot’s model

  • $95 per image with your model

  • Minimum of 10 images applies

What's included in the price

All Squareshot model pricing includes:

  • Studio space with production equipment (for up to 8 people)

  • Crew (Photographer, Assistant, HMUA, Stylist)

  • Lunches for shoots that take more than 6 hours (for up to 8 people)

  • Product prep. (inc. steaming)

  • Free selection of a model from Squareshot network in the brief

  • Free fitting (if necessary)

  • 6 months of usage rights (for recognizable shoots)

PER-HOUR ONLY

  1. Raw images: You’ll receive all raw images captured during the booked time. (Note: Per-image projects include only final retouched files.)

  2. Retouched images: Based on your booked duration, you can select a set number of images for retouching:

    1. Half-day: 6-24 images

    2. Full day: 12-48 images

    3. Extended day: 15-60 images

  3. Prep & end time: Each per-hour shoot includes setup and teardown time (usually 1.5–2 hours) as part of the booking.

What’s not included

While our model pricing covers everything needed for standard e-commerce shoots, some requests may go beyond the usual scope. Here’s what may be added to your project as needed:

  1. Usage rights extension: For recognizable shoots, usage includes 6 months. You can extend this to 12 months, 24 months, or in perpetuity. For special purposes like global campaigns or print, additional fees may apply and are handled case-by-case with the models.

  2. Multiple models: Check our pricing for additional models here. If your shoot includes more than one model, additional model pricing applies. For projects with 3 or more models, we also include a multi-model management fee to account for the extra coordination and production support.

  3. Set design: Custom props, styled surfaces, or backdrop builds are quoted as an add-on and included in the final project total.

  4. Custom lighting setups: If your shoot requires lighting that goes beyond our standard e-commerce setups — for example, dramatic lighting, layered modifiers, or specialized effects — this may be treated as an add-on and quoted separately. We'll flag this early if it applies.

How to Choose Your Model Project Type in the Brief

When submitting your brief, you’ll choose your model project format upfront:

  1. Select Model shoot as the service type

  2. Choose between:

    • Per-image (outfit-based pricing), or

    • Per-hour (time-based booking)

If you choose Per-image

You’ll structure your shot list by outfits and angles.
As you add outfits and define angles, pricing updates automatically based on:

  • First angle per outfit (full rate)

  • Additional angles (50% rate)

  • Minimum: 5 outfits / 20 images

This format works best when your deliverables are clearly defined.

If you choose Per-hour

You’ll select the duration of your shoot (starting from 4 hours).
Final retouched image selections are made after the shoot based on your booked duration.

This format works best when you need flexibility on set or are still refining your final deliverables.

If you’re unsure which format fits your project, your Account Manager can review your shot list and recommend the most efficient structure before production begins.
