Model shoot days are dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced. Here’s a breakdown of how the day unfolds, what to expect, and how to get the most out of your time with us.
Before the Shoot
Ahead of your shoot, we’ll share a call sheet that outlines everything: the crew, location, timing, and shot list. It’s designed to make sure everyone is aligned and ready to hit the ground running.
Arrival and Setup
This phase takes up to 1.5 hours and focuses on preparation — setting up gear, prepping models, and getting the space ready to shoot.
The crew arrives first to begin setup and prep. This includes lighting, camera setup, and product staging.
The HMUA and stylist start preparing the models based on your creative direction.
Client arrival tip: You’re welcome to arrive at the general call time, but we recommend joining 15–30 minutes later so that everything is smoothly underway when you arrive.
Shooting Process
Once setup is complete, we move into the production stage — where everything comes together on camera. We begin shooting based on the approved shot list and call sheet.
You’ll be able to review images live on our CaptureOne station.
You can provide feedback in real time — model direction, styling tweaks, or frame selection.
Star your favorites during the shoot to ease the post-production selection later.
Our team will guide the pace and flag when it’s time to move on to the next look or setup.
Feedback During the Shoot
We encourage collaboration — but how flexible we can be depends on the project type.
For per-hour projects: Flexibility is built in. You can adjust poses, HMUA, styling, or direction as we go. Everything we capture within the booked time is yours.
For per-image projects: We stick to a pre-defined number of deliverables based on internal planning. Minor creative changes are okay if they don’t disrupt the plan. Reducing the image count is not possible.
On-Shoot Approval Policy
All model shoots require in-studio approval. This ensures we’re aligned on visual direction and desired outcomes. If you're unable to attend the shoot — in person or remotely — please plan to reschedule in advance. Our rescheduling policy and fees will apply.
Breaks and Meals
For shoots lasting 6+ hours, we take a 30-minute lunch break — lunch is provided by Squareshot. This break is included in the total shoot time for per-hour projects.
Wrap-Up and Image Selection
Once shooting wraps, we move into image review and post-shoot selection — your time to finalize what gets retouched.
The team will break down the setup and finalize production logistics.
You’ll review all raw images and confirm your selects. Any images starred during the shoot are considered your selects.
If you need more time for the final selection, we’ll share the raw images after the shoot.
Important note: Turnaround time begins only after selects are confirmed.
Image Selection Guidelines
Per-hour projects:
Select retouched images based on the time booked:
4 hours = up to 24 images
8 hours = up to 48 images
Need more? You can purchase additional edits at $30/image.
Per-image projects:
Your image count is fixed and pre-paid. If you’d like to add more, additional images are available at 50% of the per-image rate.
