We're making two updates to how projects are scoped and revised at Squareshot. Both changes are designed to make the process more predictable and reliable — for your team and ours.
Effective date
These changes take effect on April 1, 2026.
What's new
1. Minimum order of $500
Starting April 1, all new per-image projects require a minimum order value of $500.
If your project scope comes in below this threshold, here are a few ways to reach the minimum:
Add more images to your shot list
Choose a faster delivery speed (Expedited or Rush)
Pay the difference between your desired project scope and the $500 minimum
Members are not affected. If you have an active Squareshot membership, no minimum order applies to your projects — this remains unchanged.
2. Simplified retouching revisions
We're removing the distinction between free and paid retouching edits. All retouching revisions are now free — no need to evaluate whether an edit falls into one category or another.
Here's how revision rounds work going forward:
Rounds 1 and 2 are free. Any retouching adjustment requested within the first two rounds is covered at no extra charge.
Round 3 and beyond are paid. Additional rounds after the second are charged at our standard retouching rate ($35/hour).
What this doesn't cover. This change applies to retouching edits only. Requests that fundamentally alter the product in post-production (such as recoloring or major structural changes) remain outside the scope of free revisions, as before. Reshoot requests continue to follow the existing Revision Policy, including the division between free and paid reshoots.
We made this change to remove friction after delivery. Minor retouching feedback shouldn't require a back-and-forth about whether it's billable — we want you to receive exactly what you need without that uncertainty.
How this applies to existing projects
Projects already paid and in production are not affected by this change and will be completed under the previous revision terms.
All other projects — including briefs submitted but not yet paid, and all new projects — follow the new policy from April 1.
